On March 11, amendments to the Antimonopoly legislation were published in Rossiskaya Gazeta. The amendments increase the threshholds that trigger the antimonopoly filing (notification/approval) requirements for certain regulated transactions.

The threshhold for post-factum notification was increased from 100,000 minimum wages (10 million RUR or approximately 362,000 USD) to 2 mln minimum wages (200 mln RUR or approximately 7,246,000 USD).

The threshhold for obtaining prior approval was increased from 200,000 minimum wages (20 million RUR or approximately 724,000 USD) to 30 mln minimum wages (3 bln RUR or approximately 108,000,000 USD).

The amended laws come into effect on March 22, 2005 (within 10 days of their publication).
