It is possible, beginning this year, that biometrics may be included not only in Russian international passports, but also in temporary registration, residence permits, and refugee travel documents. This was announced by the Head of the FMS at a board meeting. The appropriate forms are already designed; the next step is to draft the necessary legislative acts. According to the FMS officials, it is mostly completed. 

Since all regional offices of the FMS must receive new equipment and communication channels by the end of the year, no impediments are expected for processing of these modern documents.
