Moscow’s tax inspectors are ready to take on a new responsibility – to limit audits to two months. To accelerate the audit process, new departments for cross-audits have been founded in all city tax inspection offices.

Cross audits are conducted to search for evidence relevant to tax violations found in desk or field audits. Until now, the question of what department should run cross-audits (weather the desk audit department or the field audit department) was left to the discretion of the tax inspection managers. The new departments will carry out all cross-audit communications with contracting companies.
