Discrimination In Job Advertisements To Be Banned

The Antimonopoly Service and the Federal Labor Service (FLS) are in the process of developing a mechanism prohibiting publication of job advertisements with specific age, gender, location and citizenship requirements as “discriminatory.” According to Andrey Selivanov, Deputy Head of FLS, such practice is forbidden by The Constitution and The Labor Code.
It is supposed in some instances violators will be subject to fines up to 500,000 rubles for violation of the law “On Advertising.” According to analyzes, 44% of job advertisements on average in Russia and approximately 60% in Moscow currently will be considered discriminatory under this interpretation.
