Duma Discusses Penalties For Overdue Tax Statements
 03.07.08
On June 25 the State Duma will look at two bills that would clarify penalties for failure to submit tax statements to the Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service on time.
The first bill proposes to establish a 100-ruble minimum fine for tax statements filed more than 180 days late. The authors of the bill note that the lack of an established minimum fine causes confusion among tax officials.
The second bill proposes to establish a 600-ruble fine for tax statements overdue by more than 180 days, plus 200 rubles for every month thereafter. The authors of the first bill, like those of the second bill, also propose to establish a 100-ruble fine/month for tax returns overdue by 180 days or less.
