Employees Can Be Switched To Part-Time Without 2 Months Notification
 27.03.09
If a company’s upper management plans to establish a part-time workday, they don’t need to notify employees two months ahead of time, says Denis Yazykov, head of the analytical department of the State Labor Inspectorate in Moscow. The procedures for temporarily transferring employees to part-time work are established in Article 74 of the Labor Code of Russia. Since it is a temporary measure that preserves work places, the requirement that employees be notified about such changes to their labor agreements 2-months in advance does not apply.
If an employee wants to switch to part-time work, then Article 93 of the Labor Code applies: such changes to an employee’s work schedule can only be made upon the mutual agreement of both sides of the labor agreement.
