Organizations In Russia Will Need Submit Information To A New Internet Security System
Russia is planning a new system for collecting, storing, and processing data used on the Internet. The new project is meant to strengthen regulations over the Internet in Russia, the project developers report.
Companies under Russian jurisdiction who use an autonomous system number or an IP address will forward the following data to the security system:
- about those who transmit data;
- persons who use, dispose of a range of network addresses, autonomous system numbers, and domain names;
- ranges of network addresses, autonomous system numbers and the dates on which all these parameters were obtained;
- registered domain names and registration dates.
A complete list of data is available for the project. How it will be reported to the government will be determined by the government.
A similar project last year was given public discussion, but at that time it was not clear what data would be required.
