Stricter Punishment For Employing Foreigners Illegally Proposed
To punish employers who do not sign labor or civil law contracts with a foreigner or stateless person they employ, Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs has proposed the following:
- fines from 250,000 to 800,000 rubles;
- forced administrative suspension of all business activities for a period of 14 to 90 days.
At the moment, the employer can only be fined for evading the conclusion of an employment contract. For legal entities, that fine is from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles.
The proposal's authors argue that that this is not enough to stop those that would use illegal employment practices.
