An organization with deals in food products recently submitted an inquiry to the Ministry, asking if the initial costs of the products and the cost of their disposal could used as expenses in the calculation of profit taxes.

The Ministry answered (without additional explanation) could not be considered expenses within the entrepreneurial activity of the company and therefore could not be considered in the calculation of profit tax.

This was explained in the Letter from June 27, 2008 #03-03-06/1/373.
