FTS To Form Electronic Archive
 27.02.08
In Moscow the Federal Tax Service (FTS) is has introduced bar codes for tax filing to allow tax payments to be monitored online and a list of tax evaders to be configured electronically. Immediately after the payment of taxes the bank will process the transaction so that the taxpayer can file a "Tax Clearance Certificate" the following day.
In the second half of 2008, the FTS also expects to implement a single, centralized archive of all documents submitted by taxpayers. This way, documents once received by the tax authorities would not be required a second time.
A provision of the Tax Code, stating taxpayers cannot be asked for the same documents twice, became effective Jan. 1, 2008. The FTS plans to inventory all documents submitted by taxpayers to the tax authorities, and to transfer this information to the central office.
