McDonald's To Open Over 30 Outlets In Russia in 2009

McDonald's Corporation plans to open over 30 outlets in Russia in 2009, the company's president for Russia and Eastern Europe, Khamzat Khasbulatov, said at a press conference in Kazan on Wednesday.
Khasbulatov said that company had no plans of tightening up investment in light of the current economic crisis. He did not specify total investment planned for Russia this year but he sad that the opening of a new restaurant usually costs around $3 million.
He also said that providing affordable prices and expanding services were necessary in order to retain customers.
He added that the company's sales in Russia were growing.
A total of 220 McDonald's outlets operate in Russia at present.
The first McDonald's restaurant in Russia was opened in 1990.
