Measures To Help Small Businesses

 27.03.09
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has expressed support for an idea proposed by United Russia to free small business from checks for one year. However, they decided that this moratorium on checks should not influence the quality of materials or services that the small businesses provide. As a result it was decided that small businesses will be liberated from this obligation so long as the business is not involved in spheres affecting the life and health of citizens.
Deputies will begin to liberate small businesses from the checks in the end of March. Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of Economic Policy and Business Evgeny Fedorov noted it was also possible to defer scheduled tax checks for a year.
The Prime Minister and deputies also discussed other measures to help small business. Among them: expanding the types of entrepreneurial activity that can use patent taxation, increasing the turnover for businesses to apply the simplified tax system from 20 to 60 million rubles, as well as introducing temporary moratoriums on rent payments for 2009.
