Officials have decided to support the development of private medicine and encourage treatment in polyclinics and hospitals on the basis of voluntary medical insurance. The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has prepared amendments to item 219 of the Tax Code, which would allow the the cost of voluntary medical insurance to be written off from an individual's personal income tax base.
