Naryshkin Calls On Oversight Bodies To Ease Pressure On Business

 15.12.08
Oversight bodies must ease pressure on businesses and off-schedule inspections of Russian enterprises should only be conducted with a prosecutor's sanction, Presidential administration chief Sergei Naryshkin said.
"Under the conditions of the world financial crisis, special attention should be given to work with business, with our entrepreneurs. They are literally smothered by inspections. Even the Russian president has called on the authorities not to harass business," Naryshkin said at a meeting addressing the work of oversight and inspection bodies in Russia on Thursday.
The situation in this area "should be controlled by the prosecutor's office," he said.
"Off-schedule inspections should be conducted only with a prosecutor's sanction," Naryshkin said.
"We need to let those who are producing real products work," he said.
Among the meeting participants were Audit Chamber chief Sergei Stepashin, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, government administration chief Sergei Sobyanin, and the heads of oversight and inspection bodies.
