New Model Of RF Economy To Be Domestic Demand-oriented - Dep PM

 27.03.09
This year Russia will "gradually and in the process of coming out of the crisis" develop a new model of economy oriented on the domestic demand, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said at a meeting with heads of regions within the Far Eastern federal district.
"At present, a new model of economic growth is a real challenge for us," he said. "In the previous years the country' s development plans were based on the need to increase an export potential. We do not renounce these plans, the relevant strategy has been approved and we will boost everything related to our export opportunities."
"But now it is necessary to pay attention to the development of domestic demand and use all instruments we have. People should through their own efforts create a certain environment for living," he said adding the government will provide necessary support through different mechanisms of social support.
