According to Federal Statistics Service, for the first six months of 2007, the average salary of regional governmental officials amounted to 23,000 rubles (an increase of 14% compared to the same period of 2006); for employees of territorial federal agencies, 15,803 rubles (+28%) and for agencies of local governments, 13,692 rubles (+14%). The salary of the average Russian amounted to just 12,457 rubles (+17.5%).
