Real Incomes Of Russians Go Up By 3% In 2008 - Statistics

The real disposable monetary incomes of the Russian population, except compulsory payments, adjusted to the consumer price index, went up by 2.7 percent in 2008 as compared to the year of 2007, the Prime Tass economic news agency said on Wednesday, quoting a regular report of the Russian Federal State Statistics Service.
In December 2008, the real incomes of the population increased by 29.4 percent as compared to November 2008 and went down by 11.6 percent versus December 2007, Prime Tass cited the report.
Real monthly incomes per capita of the Russian population amounted to 20,587 roubles (USD 1 = RUB 33.21) in December 2008, which was 4.4 percent more than in December 2007 and 32.5 percent more than in November 2008, Prime Tass said.
In the month under review, the country's average gross nominal monthly wage amounted to 20,328 roubles, which was 8.1 percent more than in December 2007 and 15.0 percent more than in November 2008, Prime Tass cited the statistics document.
In December 2008, the real wages of the Russian population went up by 14.2 percent as against November 2008 and decreased by 4.6 percent as compared to December 2007, Prime Tass said.
