Tax Authorities find new reasons to reject company registrations
07.03.05 On March 3, the Moscow tax authorities issued a letter outlining a new reason they can turn down applications for company registration. If the company attempts to register using a legal address that is on the “black list” because there are multiple companies registered at that address, the application will simply be treated as if it has not been submitted. The tax inspectorate feels it is justified in rejecting applications for company and individual entrepreneur registration. In this way, they hope to bring a stop to the practice of purchasing legal addresses with postal and secretarial services. The tax officials claim that masses of taxpayers use these purchased addresses, and a significant percentage of them are “one-day” companies (shut down before they even submit their first tax declarations).
