Creating a second package of amendments to antitrust laws by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) was discussed yesterday at a work meeting with First Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov.

The conversation went "behind closed doors,” and the decisions are still unknown. However, the Federal Antimonopoly Service publicized their new initiatives the previous day at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ round table. The amendments significantly expand the powers of FAS in investigating violations of the Antimonopoly Law.
