The Ministry of Public Health and Social Development set the work visa quota for 2008 for all of Russia at 672,304 invitations. The quota reserve has been established at 172,115 invitations. This according to resolution # 74н from February 18, 2008 (registered by Ministry of Justice on February 29, 2008).

The work permits quota has been declared full. Requests for employment of foreign workers for 2008 are being rejected if they were submitted after May 1, 2007. The government offices have stated that additional requests will be accepted only beginning in June, 2008.
