Voluntary Pension Fund

As of October 1, about 8,000 people wanted to participate in the state's Voluntary Pension Fund, according to the Minister of Health and Social Development, T. Golikova at the government hour in the State Duma.
According to her, citizens filed 6,305 applications to the Pension Fund by October 1, and by October 8, a little over 8,000 of them were filed. 5,000 applications have been processed by the Pension Fund. 80% of these applications were filed by women and 20% by men. The average age of participants is 30 years.
Recall that citizens who decide to finance their future premium between October 1, 2008 and October 1, 2013, will receive co-financing from the state in addition to their contributions. After 2009, the government will co-finance voluntary contributions from citizens at a 1:1 ratio with a maximum annual state contribution of 12,000 rubles a year per citizen. For citizens who have reached retirement age, but not applied for pensions, the maximum amount is expected to quadruple - to 48,000 rubles a year. The state will co-finance citizens’ pensions for 10 years, starting from the year of the first Voluntary Pension Fund payment.
